Oregon Pinot Noir is world-renowned for its quality and range of styles. Quality over quantity has always been the mantra of Oregon winegrowers for two reasons:
- Mother Nature’s precocious ways typically result in low fruit yields, making it especially challenging for Oregon Pinot Noir vineyards.
- Oregonians are pioneers. We’re up to the challenge of creating something truly special. This is certainly true when the winemaker’s goal is to create a fine Oregon Pinot Noir.
Giorgio Furioso was irresistibly drawn to Oregon and to Oregon Pinot Noir. Invited by a winemaker friend to come see for himself, he was immediately captivated. The landscape aesthetics are reminiscent of parts of his native Abruzzi, Italy. He was surprised at the warm welcome he found within the wine community. And he was impressed that bulk of vineyard farming in Oregon is organic, with an emphasis on boutique wineries that produce less than 5000 cases a year. It felt like home.
Oregon Pinot Noir captivated him with its inherent subtleties. “It offers delicacy and beauty without needing to hit you over the head,” he says. “It gives you more time to assess what’s in the glass.”
Oregon Pinots are all different from one another, many showing great quality and distinctions per their terroir and style. Giorgio wanted to offer his own great take on this astoundingly versatile grape. Furioso Vineyards was born from the motherland’s inspiration. As Furioso Vineyard grows and matures, so do we hope your love of the Furioso labels will grow and mature as we strive to make for you only the finest in Oregon Pinot Noir.
